Title. Room With A View
Room with a View is an installation created as part of Semi-Permanent and High Snobiety's take-over of the Paramount Hotel in Sydney, Australia.
A hybrid installation featuring a combination of old and new screen technology, the experience places the audience in a dystopian setting through the viewpoint of a survivalist. Using a combination of live looping real-time animation and pre-rendered animation sequences, visitors to the room are able to piece together a voyeuristic narrative reinforced by props and survivalist ephemera. The visual concept is accompanied by the sounds of the William Basinski's The Distintegration Loops.
