The Power of Words

The Power of Words was an animated typographic film created by Collider for Times Square NY, Tribeca Film Festival & the Nelson Mandela Foundation and screened every night for a month in the heart of New York City.

Collider reinterpreted the words of Nelson Mandela into a potent typographic animation for use across the Times Square Alliance screens.

Collider's Andrew van der Westhuyzen worked with director Nabil Elderkin and writer Gregory Stern to produce an animated typographic piece for Times Square NY, Tribeca Film Festival and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

The project involved creating a number of animated pieces using selected quotes of Nelson Mandela over his lifetime. It was timed to coincide with Mandela’s 95th birthday and was part of the Midnight Moment: A Digital Gallery event.
