April in July is about the slow dissolution of the modern family through the grinding repetition of daily routine. After being injured in a severe car accident, fifteen-year-old Chloe recuperates at home under the tender care of her father. Her mother works tirelessly to keep the family afloat, watching helplessly as the chasm widens between her and those she loves. Like ships passing each other in the night, the members of the family drift apart, without moving an inch. Escape seems impossible when the life you dreamt of becomes the reality that traps you. Where do you turn when home becomes a silent prison?
